What is Authentic sea glass?
Authentic Sea glass is discarded glass that has been tumbled naturally in the ocean and found on the shore. I have dedicated a page to learn more about authentic sea glass!
Is sea glass hard to find?
Yes, sea glass is becoming more and more difficult to find due to the changes in society. We no longer use glass containers in abundance and we no longer litter.
Where did your sea glass come from?
Much of my sea glass was hand picked by my grandmother, friends, family members and myself on the coast of New England. The rest has been purchased from professional sea glass collectors.
What are the common colors of sea glass?
The common colors of sea glass are white, green and brown. Even the common colors may be uncommon pieces of sea glass if they are perfectly frosted with no chips and are shaped nicely.
What are the rarest colors of seaglass?
Red, orange, black, yellow, cobalt, jadeite and milk glass are among some of the rarest colors.
Do you alter your sea glass or cut it in any way?
No. My sea glass jewelry is made with unaltered sea glass the same condition as found on the beach.
What type of metals do you use?
I use Argentium sterling silver. It is a little more expensive than sterling silver, but I think it is a better product because it is tarnish resistant. I also use 14k GF wire also know as rolled gold.
The chains and findings are all sterling silver and 14k GF unless noted in the description of the item.
How do you care for your sea glass jewelry?
The best way and easiest way to keep all sterling silver jewelry clean is to keep it in an air tight container when not in use. Air is an oxident. I keep my jewelry in zip lock baggies and then in a plastic container with an airtight lid. It will stay new for a very long time with out cleaning. I recommend if you like your silver to remain bright do not wear it swimming, in the shower or hot tub. For more cleaning and care please visit http://www.jewelrybydaniellerenee.com/page/cleaning.
Do you offer professional cleaning services for sea glass jewelry?
Yes. I prefer to only clean jewelry that I have made myself. I charge from $15-$35 (if the item needs to be taken apart)depending on the piece. Estimates are given beforehand. Shipping charges also apply.
I have my own sea glass will you make something for me?
This is great way to have a special piece of sea glass jewelry made for yourself or as a gift to someone else. I am always honored when someone entrusts me with their own sea glass. I can also rework your old sea glass jewelry. Charges for custom work with your sea glass start at $35.00 for a sea glass charm. A deposit it required. Please email me for details.
I purchased a sea glass bracelet from you and misjudged my size. Can it be resized?
Yes, I will be happy to resize your bracelet at no charge. Please email me for instructions. Shipping charges will be applied.
